It has been a while since the last update here.  There has been much activity taking place behind the scenes.

2015 was designed as an "off-year" for the national event, allowing regional conferences to be held by yearly meetings, if they so desired.

Meanwhile, the "Apostolic Leadership Group", an ad-hoc group of church planting leaders that began two years ago, has meet a number of times, dreaming, planning, sharing and encouraging one another.  There are nine evangelically minded Yearly Meetings involved (EFC-Eastern Region, EFC-Mid-America, EFC-Southwest, EFC-Rocky Mountain, EFC-Alaska, EFC-Northwest, FUM-Iowa, FUM-Indiana (B), and FUM-North Carolina).

The ALG is in the process of formalizing somewhat, recognizing what God is already doing.  Believing our call is to encourage the flame of passion and vision for church multiplication, we are using the terms "Catalysts" to describe these individuals.  Representatives from Yearly Meetings/Regions are "Regional Catalysts".  Together they are led by an national team of servants.  Randy Littlefield serves as the Catalyst for Strategy. Jim Le Shana is the Catalyst for Equipping.  Mike Dennis is the Catalyst for Communication, and Kay Wilson serves as the Catalyst for Prayer.

A new logo is being developed to help represent our identify.

A website is being developed and will deploy at FriendsMultiply.com when it is ready to go.  A journal has been set up at Medium.com, and the first articles are have been submitted to the editorial team

Planning for the 2015 National Friends Multiply! Conference is underway.

Stay tuned for further updates!

Here are some of the photos from the Conference. More can be found at Barclay College's Facebook page.
This photo was taken almost as an afterthought several minutes following the final session (when half of the participants had already left).  Nonetheless, it helps to give a sense of the scope and diversity of the 100 attenders from 8 Yearly Meetings around the country.

Powerpoint Downloads and Main Session Recordings

Here are the first of the resources for you to download from the 2013 Friends Church Multiplication Conference.

Click Here to download a .zip file containing the main session Powerpoints. The speaker agreed that these were okay to share with your church planting teams, as he is more interested in Kingdom growth than making money.

Click Here to download a .zip file containing the audio recordings of all the main sessions.

We will be adding the audio recordings from the smaller breakout sessions soon, as well as more photos from the conference, so check back in a couple days.

A Multiplcation Movement Among Friends?!

Can you imagine what would happen if God poured out His Spirit in such a way that we experienced a Friends church multiplication movement?! Although God hasn’t called us to win the whole world to Christ by ourselves, He has entrusted to Friends a portion of this unfinished task. For many months, a number of leaders have been talking, praying, and considering how to help us do our part to fulfill the Great Commission, cultivating a renewed passion for evangelism and church planting. This conference is an extension of that heartbeat.
Why a “National”Friends Church Multiplication Conference? Simply put, we need to start someplace and there are many people in this country who need the Lord (many of whom come to us from around the world). If the Lord opens the door for it, these steps could lead to an international movement. In many respects, Friends in this country have much to learn from our brothers and sisters around the globe!

Why Now? We want to be faithful to do our part to fulfill the Great Commission. In the face of many challenges and distractions among Friends in every region, this may be exactly the right time to have a forward-looking emphasis that reminds us of our calling with a “gates of hell shall not prevail against it” passion. There are exciting flickers of this fire around the country and globe among Friends, but it is time to bring these sparks together. With God’s help, we need to prayerfully consider how we might shed a maintenance-mentality and stir up a strategic church multiplication movement.
